Hello guys!
This is my most recent commissioned work and represents a magical character from a Dungeons and Dragons private campaign scenario.
This is the briefing that I received from the customer, it contains a description from the cultural background and the visual characteristics of the character:
"...About Vargae - Cultural background
There is a culture of nomadic people called Vargae. They are pale in complexion and have striking red hair (and facial hair for men). They lost their home some centuries ago, and are now wandering the lands settling where they please. That is why you will often find them carrying all kinds of items ontheir person that other people usually keep in their homes (cookware, etc.).
The most peculiar thing every Varga has with them is a plant from their ancestral land. Cities they were exiled from had lush beautiful gardens and the saplings of those flowers and trees is all they have left. Now, they carry saplings with them wherever they go whether it’s in a pot on a stick or in a
bag around their belt. The dream is that if they ever claim a land of their own, they will plant those once again and rebuild the gardens once more.
They usually wear mismatched clothes, often colorful and loose (they appreciate freedom ofmovement). It is not strange to see them braid their valuables (such as jewelry) in their hair.
Often they will become entertainers, of a carnival sort, to make their living while keeping to theirnomadic lifestyle, so it’s not rare to find magicians, acrobats, musicians and the like among their ranks.
Their characters are often wild, impulsive, and have the gift of seeing things that aren’t there. It is believed those traits come from their close connection to the Archon Ma’Ez. Some might even claim
to be able to see the future...
The Seer - Character description
Our character, The Seer, is a fortune teller, so a deck of tarot cards is his most important possession and something he is recognizable by.
He is a slender, middle-aged Varga with trinkets in his red beard. As he is almost a stereotypical representative of his culture, you can take inspiration from the first section..."
I´m with slots available for commissions, so if you want to see your character represented by me, I'll be very happy to help.
